13-day strenuous trek in Manaslu Region
A spectacular, remote off-the-beaten-path trek circling the world's eighth-highest mountain, Mount Manaslu, crossing the challenging Larkya La Pass.
An adventurous 8-hour drive crossing Arughat and Soti Khola, following the Budhi Gandaki river canyon to Machha Khola.
Cross the Tatopani hot springs, pass through beautiful gorges, and climb stone ridges to the neat slate-paved Gurung village of Jagat.
Walk through river terraces, climb high cliffs, cross the Budhi Gandaki suspension bridge, and pass through bamboo forests to Deng.
Enter regions with strong Tibetan influence. Trek through rhododendron forests, crossing rivers with beautiful views of Sringi Himal.
Ascend through local barley fields to Sho village. Arrive at Lho, dominated by its ancient Ribung monastery and spectacular views of Manaslu Peak.
Walk down past Shyala village, witnessing incredible close-up views of Mount Manaslu. Arrive at Samagaon, the largest village in the region.
Rest or hike up to Birendra Tal glacier lake or Manaslu Base Camp (4,400m) for dramatic glacier and mountain vistas.
A short, scenic walk following the Budhi Gandaki river as it narrows, ascending slowly through alpine meadows to the Tibetan border village of Samdo.
Cross the wooden bridge and pass the Larke bazaar ruins. Walk slowly up the moraine to reach the stone shelters of Dharamsala.
Start at 3 AM. Climb the glacial moraine and cross the spectacular, snowy Larkya La Pass for panoramic mountain vistas. Descend steeply to Bimthang.
Descend through pine and rhododendron forests into the Dudh Khola valley, crossing to Tilije village before joining the Annapurna Circuit road at Dharapani.
Board our private jeep to Besisahar, then transfer to a car for a comfortable drive back to your hotel in Kathmandu.
